Noelle Mann

Just heard the very sad news that my dear friend and one-time ‘pupil’ (though she taught me more than I ever taught her), Noelle Mann, has died.

Champion of Russian music and Prokofiev in particular, moving spirit behind so much research and performance, Blackheath neighbour, endless source of inspiration, laughter and fun…

David Nice on his website http://davidnice.blogspot.com/2010/04/farewell-noelle.html has said it all better than I can (and please also read the comments from friends and colleagues).

Farewell, Noelle, and condolences to Chris and their children. We loved you, and you brought us so much music and happiness.

Thank you Jonathan, not least for adding so warmly to the tributes here and there. While the obits hang fire, it’s good to have as many people remembering our wonderful Noelle online as possible.

And although it might not seem like the ideal time, this has brought me back to your blog. Sorry for the awful time you had with cellulitis.
